Australian comedy royalty Fiona O'Loughlin, is set to wow the crowds at Settlers Tavern on Thursday, October 31.
As part of her regional tour, O'Loughlin will be stopping off in Margaret River for her only Western Australian gig, to show why she is one of the most in-demand comedians in the country.
Winner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's (MICF) 'Best Newcomer Award' in 2001, O'Loughlin's career has gone from strength to strength. In 2006 she took home the coveted MICF 'Piece of Wood', an award for funniest show as voted for by other comedians. In 2007 and 2008, she was nominated for the MICF's Barry Award for 'Best Show' and in 2013, O'Loughlin was awarded Adelaide Comedy's 'Best Visiting Comedian' award.
As well as a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, O'Loughlin is an accomplished writer, TV presenter and media personality. Cast in the 2018 Network Ten Program 'I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here', she won the title of 'Queen of the Jungle' and won hearts across the nation with her harrowing road to recovery.
Gap Year is O'Loughlin at her finest. A gifted raconteur, she takes the audience on the raw journey that followed her near fatal coma. But make no mistake, this is no sob story - the eternally endearing true Queen of Australian comedy never disappoints!
O'Loughlin has also appeared on 'Hughesy We Have A Problem', 'Sunrise', 'Good News Week', 'Spicks and Specks', 'Celebrity Apprentice' as well as the 'Melbourne International Comedy Festival All Stars Gala' countless times.
Most recently, the award-winning national documentary series Australian Story filmed an episode on O'Loughlin, which rated over 1.3 million viewers.
In recent years, she has overcome a well-documented 'battle with the bottle'. This, like the other aspects of her life, as well as her trademark bone-dry humour, results in hilarious shows.
Fiona O'Loughlin is at Settlers Tavern Thursday October 31 from 8.30pm. Tickets are $25 +bf via www.oztix.com.au or $30 on the door.
