Dr Wareham is president of the Medical Association for Prevention of War Australia (MAPW) and has spoken and written widely on peace and disarmament.
She works closely with the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, recipient of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize.
While in WA, she will be examining some crucial global conflicts including Gaza, and highlighting the risks of the AUKUS nuclear-powered submarine deal.
The Margaret River event is a collaboration between MAPW and community sustainability group Transition Margaret River.
Local organiser Karen Majer said the event would be an opportunity to engage in discussion about what people can do to support peace work, globally and locally.
"We are fortunate to live in a place that is safe, with much intact natural environment and an active and protective community," she said. "But events in the rest of the world touch us. Many people are anxious and grieving for loved ones in war zones and concerned about climate effects on security and biodiversity.
"We want to talk about disarmament and peace-making, and extend the conversation to local situations: to inspire peace in the world, in country and in ourselves.
"It's about work that supports us and that we can support. For example, environmental restoration is good for both physical and mental health, and so a great example of how to foster peace in ourselves.
"We hope to generate ideas about how people living here can take action and have agency, rather than feeling helpless in the face of conflict and climate change."
Presentations will include programs such as Nature Conservation's Youth Marine Stewardship Program, EcoHealth projects in schools, and the Margaret River Youth Climate Collective.
"We encourage young folk to take part. We want to hear and address their ideas and their needs."
'Making Peace - in the world, in country and in ourselves' will be held at the Margaret River Men's Shed on Sunday 14 April from 9:30am to 3:00pm (Registration 9:00am).
