Members of the region's agricultural community gathered at Brookwood Estate last week for a rare opportunity to see the latest in farming technology up close.
Hosted by Adam and Chelsea Hogg, owners of local equipment specialists and Torque Diesel Industries, the day featured demonstrations of new machines by the New Zealand based FMR Group.
"We're really excited to be out here today with our local farmers and growers, to be able to check out some of these new machines that are very new to WA and have the guys from FMR over here to talk about what's available to people in the South West," Mrs Hogg said.
Among the machines was a state of the art under-vine mower-sweeper, which quickly buzzed through the vines before a recycling sprayer demo showed how technology can reduce costs and contribute to a cleaner environment.
"These types of machines are important in areas like ours where we have a lot of shared industries in proximity to each other as well as residential areas. Recycling sprayers have the ability to draw the overspray back into the machine to be reused rather than being wasted and sent into the atmosphere.
"This is our first time partnering with a supplier like this and we're really keen to see what the feedback is from people working here in the region."
