The first weekend of Spring did not disappoint for one Dunsborough resident who went out fishing in Geographe Bay.
Serena Robinson was out on the boat with her partner Daniel Rolfe on Saturday September 4 when they both caught pink snappers.
The skipper was the first to make a catch with a 79 centimetre pinky.
However, just five minutes later Robinson pulled out a whopping 84 centimetre and 7.5 kilogram pinky to trump Rolfe's catch.
Rolfe said his partner was 'over the moon'.
"It was the biggest fish she has ever caught," he said.
"She was hopping around the deck like all of her Christmas' had come at once."
Ensuring it wasn't a competition between the pair, when Robinson held up her catch she modestly claimed "I think mine's bigger!"
