THE surf was pumping for the Cowaramup Bay Boardriders on August 23 when they took to Gracetown for some friendly foam competition.
This was the first time the club had held their competition at North Point, with president Lucas Englert describing the waves as “unreal”.
“The kids had a ball; they pushed themselves and really charged hard into the waves,” Englert said.
Sid Englert took out top spot in the novice division, with Sol Pogue-Englert taking out first place in the under 12’s, Finn Cox for the under 14’s, Jolan Bonelli for the under 16’s and Sol Edwards for the under 18’s triumphing in their divisions.
Englert said the under 12s division shone with their enthusiasm towards the day.
“The kids were ripping,” Englert said.
Overall however, he said the standout performances came from Henry Dobson, Ned Heart and Seb Chandler for their sterling efforts.
The club wished to thank their sponsors Coastal Life Surf Shop and Gracetown General Store for their ongoing support.
