It was all about number 36 this week at the Prideaus/TAB Bunbury’s Men’s Scroungers, won by Rod Wylde on a count back from David Reid both ending with 37 points.
Keith Bourke got the best out of 10 - all scoring 36 points – fortunately the countbacks are digitally counted these days. Must have been all that electricity in the air from the storm brewing.
Ian Colmer was best man on Tuesday, just scoring one better than Laurie Bedford (31), while Gerry Hunt came in third place with 32 points.
The women’s stableford was won by Di Yates on a countback from Leonie Bell on 34 points.
Second place went to Rhonda Hearn who just pipped Rosemary Basford on a countback (32).
The Mixed competition on Friday was played best by Barbara Webster with the Taylor’s close behind on second and third place.
It was a good weekend for Rhys Owen, who played for first on Kings and Travel Men’s Stableford, scoring 39, and third man on Sunday’s mixed Stableford with a score of 36, just pipping visitor Graeme Raper.
Micko O’Hara came second at the Men’s event by just getting the better of visitor Chris Carey.
Greenkeeper Luke Thies scored 40 points to win the mixed event, and Rhonda Hearn was rewarded best woman with Pierre Every next best.
