EARTHWORKS for the new Cowaramup Skate park started last Monday and the long-awaited project is expected to be completed at the end of June.
The $150,000 skate park is a joint project between the Cowaramup Lions Club, Cowaramup Hall Reserves and Resi dents Association, the Augusta-Margaret River Shire and the Department of Sports and Recreation.
A third of the funding was provided by the Lions' fundraising eff orts.
The skatepark is de signed to suit beginners and intermediate skaters but to accommodate all skating styles.
The building contract was awarded to local bus inesses Basildene Build ing Company and Ind e - pen dent Concrete WA.
"It is rewarding and inspiring to have Cowar amup skate park being built by local tradespeople and skateboarders," the business owners said.
