Nominations have closed for the Vasse by-election, with six candidates in the running for the seat of retiring Liberal MP Troy Buswell.
Three hopefuls announced their candidacies in the last week of September, joining those already in the running.
The six candidates include:
- Wayne Barnett, standing for the Australian Christians
- Teresa van Lieshout, independent nominee
- Peter Johnson, independent nominee
- Libby Mettam for the Liberal Party
- Peter Gordon for the Nationals WA
- Michael Baldock for the Greens

WA Liberals have officially endorsed Dunsborough's Libby Mettam as the party's candidate for the Vasse by-election.
The former journalist and media adviser to South West MLC Barry House is capitalising heavily on the local popularity of her predecessor Troy Buswell, who resigned earlier this month after holding the seat for almost a decade.
With Labor choosing not to field a candidate, Ms Mettam will run against the Nationals WA candidate, Busselton cafe owner Peter Gordon, and Greens candidate Michael Baldock.

The Vasse electorate includes Busselton, Vasse, Dunsborough, Quindalup, Yallingup, Jarrahwood, Cowaramup, Gracetown and part of Witchcliffe.
Polling will be conducted between 8am and 6pm on Saturday, October 18.
To vote, you may:
- Attend the polling day at one of these locations in the electorate.
- Apply for an early vote (by post) by completing an application form, which can be downloaded here. Postal votes must be received before October 23.
- Vote early in person at one of these locations. Early voting in person closes October 17.
