GRACETOWN’S Bronte Macaulay and Margaret River’s Jacob Wilcox have reached the pinnacle of junior surfing as they are set to represent Australia at the World Junior Titles in Ericeria, Portugal later this month.

Macaulay will be heading to Portugal off the back of a second placing at the world qualifying event in Spain in September.
Prior to the competition, Macaulay had been unable to participate in the last Pro Junior event due to illness.
She also was unable to attend one of the largest pro junior events on the calendar in Tahiti in April, however was still able to conquer a second placing at Manly Beach and a first place position in Newcastle in recent competitions in New South Wales, securing her place in the world championships.
Willcox placed second overall in the Pro Junior male events, with the top four being selected to represent Australia.
Willcox won the Pro Junior event in Taranaki, New Zealand back in May and placed first in the Pro Junior event in Manly.
The pair shall be travelling together throughout the tour as well as staying with Willcox’s father Mick Willcox during their Portugal visit.
