Cowtown Kids child care centre were recently visited for a three day assessment and rating against the National Quality Standard and Education and Care Services National regulations.
The ratings system promotes accountability and helps parents assess the quality of education and care services available, with every service receiving a rating for each quality area and an overall quality rating, according to Cowtown Kids owner Serena Lewis.
Cowtown Kids is the only child care centre in the South West to receive the exceeding rating in NQS.
“Everyone was absolutely over the moon,” said Ms Lewis.
“It’s a huge accomplishment in such a short amount of time.”
Opening in 2010, Ms Lewis said it was fantastic to see the team at Cowtown Kids being recognised for the hours and efforts they have put into the centre.
The centre also instils a number of agriculturally minded learning activities so children understand elements about their local community, such as an adopt a lamb program, hatching chickens and learning about where produce comes from.
Cowtown Kids are also in the process of expanding their child care centre to cater to the demand in the area.
From February next year, another Cowtown Kids will be open opposite the primary school allowing a facility catering from zero to two and a half and a facility for two and a half to five year olds to exist.
