Opened in February, the Silver Chain clinic joins the Busselton and Manjimup clinics that have been treating clients over the past few years.
Silver Chain communications officer Jasmine Green said the wounds requiring treatment vary and can be a very extensive process.
She said the clinic was opened to fulfil a need in the area and to remove some of the burden from GPs and emergency departments.
Ms Green also said it was to primarily assist the clients so they may be treated closer to home and save time and effort in travelling for treatment.
The wound care clinics treat clients of all ages and abilities, following referral by a health care professional such as a registered nurse, general practitioner, specialist surgeon, physician, or podiatrist.
Registered nurse Heidi Hutchings said the Margaret River clinic was filled with nurses with great wound care education.
She said more and more people were discovering the facility as time went on and encouraged others to utilise the free service.
The most common wounds the specially trained nurses treat are chronic or acute wounds, which are usually the result of leg ulcers and surgical procedures.
Resident Joan Graham said she had been using the facility for the last month as she enjoyed the company of the nurses and it made life easier.
“It makes a big difference,” she said.
The service is offered seven days a week by appointment from 9am-4pm.
After the initial GP referral and appointment, clients can call 1300 650 803 for future appointments.
