Under 12s Margaret River 2 (7/94) def by Vasse (7/111)
On a dewy morning, Vasse did the team what we thought would be a favour, and allowed us to bat first. Captain George Worsley batted number 1 and led from the front all day, ending on 14*, but it took until Darcy Currell (9) and Darcy Whitelaw (23*) batting number 10 and 11 for him to find some partners.
With the help of the Darcys, MR2 ended on 7/94. In contrast, Vasse made a good start and had MR2 under pressure from the beginning, and they made steady progress finishing with the win on 7/111.
Again a captain’s performance with the ball gave George Worsley 3/13 and a solid slips catch, with assistance from Finn Barrett-Lennard 2/3 and Ben Cook 1/3.
Not out innings from Matt Granville (4*) and Jake Miller (4*), and some very tidy bowling from Jyah Dodd, 3 of our youngest players, were some of the other important achievements of the day. It is great to see the consistent improvement for the whole team.
Thank you to Hamish, Adele and Nathan who provided important assistance to the team on the day.

Margaret River (9/188) vs Dunsborough (9/189)
The best bowling batting performance I think I have ever witnessed in a junior game of cricket. Taj Thomas carried his bat today finishing on 63 Charlie Hart making 36.
Taj and John Mottershead opened the bowling John with 1/16 off 5 and Taj 1/11 off 6 they set the tone for what was to come with Jadon Granville 2/13 off 3 Angus Currel 1/10 off 3 and Connor BL 1/13 off 4.
Everyone fielded with energy taking every catch. Great effort boys I am looking forward to see what they can do for the rest of the season
Margaret River 1
Having been bowled out for 86 and St Mary’s being 5/72 after day 1, the boys needed to step up on day 2.
With only having 13 runs to play with, and defeat the un-backable favourite, the Margaret River lads, led by the Chicken Treat Margaret River man of the match Killy Booth with an outstanding 4/6, took 5 for 11 to claim an amazing victory.
To their credit they showed up and bowled the Saints out for 83 resulting in a surprise but well deserved 1st innings win. Our second innings batting was much improved, finishing with 3/137.
Our captain Aiden Robins once again was leading run scorer with an unbeaten 50 (his second for the year), well supported by opening partner Mason Beecham 17 and Sam Leigh 32. Well done boys!
