Strong play from youngsters Blake Smith and Archie Currell in midfield kept Margaret River in attack.
Brad Yates started the goal scoring with a well worked field goal, and this was added to in quick succession by two penalty corner goals, one from Ian Currell and another from Matt Bycroft which put Margaret River in a strong position going into the half time break.
The second half started strongly with another field goal from Yates, set up by the tenacious work from Luke Altmann.
However, during the middle section of this half, Margaret River did lose some focus, placing themselves under unnecessary pressure and not taking advantage of strong defensive work coming from Brynley Jenkins, Clint Gartrell and Brendan Slaven.
Altmann put himself on the line to deliver many balls to the forwards who failed to capitalise.
The team ended the game in good fashion though with Ben Van-Overdijk scoring a field goal and, after some desperate work coming from the Capel defence to repel many shots on goals, Conor Callow picked up a desperate clearing shot and slammed it home with just seconds left on the clock.
Best players, as selected by the umpires were Matt Bycroft, Brad Yates and Brynley Jenkins.
Next week’s match against top of the ladder team, Cavaliers will be a real test for Margaret River.
The game is on Saturday at 6 pm.
