Last Tuesday October 10 the Margaret River Community Garden on Clarke Road welcomed a number of community members for a busy bee day with help from local business, Bunnings Margaret River.
The aim of the day was to refresh the wicking beds and replant them with summer vegetables.
Bunnings Margaret River provided seedlings and a ute load of compost towards the task.
The donated supplies were used to freshen up the wicking beds as well as to prepare new flower beds in the community garden.
There were plenty of volunteers on hand to help Amber and Robbie from Bunnings Margaret River with unloading the compost from the ute and planting out the seedlings.
The new flower beds were positioned near the small playground being set up for the three little girls who regularly attend the Wednesday garden sessions.
Another larger garden bed will also be planted out with edible flowers.
Wicking beds are ready and available to be leased for a minimal amount of rent by members of the public or gardeners just wanting to help build the garden into a beautiful space for the community to enjoy.
Those interested in joining are welcome to come to the garden on Wednesday mornings.
