These eight kids from Cowaramup Auskick will count themselves as some of the luckiest kids in Western Australia this weekend when they get to be part of the NAB AFL Auskick Grid Game at half time of the West Coast Eagles vs Western Bulldogs game at Optus Stadium on June 2.
It's incredibly hard to get a slot in the half time Auskick game, according to Cowaramup Junior Football Club President, Julia Meldrum.
"The waiting list is long, so we're really lucky and excited to join the other clubs under the Augusta-Margaret River Junior Association in front of the huge Optus Stadium crowd," she said. 'We're very thankful to the AFL and WAFL for the opportunity.'
Cowaramup Auskick coordinator, Chris Mulcahy, said he'd been extremely proud of the skills and enthusiasm coming out of Cowaramup's Auskick Centre for years, and was looking forward to seeing the kids on the big stage.
So if you're at Optus Stadium, or watching at home on TV, keep an eye out for television coverage of the halftime game and see if you can spot a Cowaramup kid you know.
