The Margaret River Volunteer Fire and Rescue have received a $2,300 donation on behalf of the Margaret River District Club, following the club's Firey's Fundraiser last week.
Members of the local community gathered at the event to donate via a barbecue lunch and prize raffles, which club president Andrew Forsell said was a great day filled with community spirit.
"Fundraising efforts like this are exactly what the District Club is all about, we are a community venue that exists to promote that fantastic spirit that Margaret River is so well known for," he said.
"We are so grateful to our supporters, members and of course our staff who all donated their time to create a wonderful day in aid of our very hardworking local fire and rescue crew."
The fire and rescue service is identifying a number of brigades in affected fire zones including NSW, Victoria and Kangaroo Island, where the funds will be donated to support their fellow firefighters.
