Last week 37 Geographe Cycle Club members enjoyed four days of cycling around the beautiful backroads of Margaret River during one of their regular bike camps.
The group from Busselton boast an over 50s membership, and encourages fitness, fun and enjoyment while cycling. Many of the club members are in their 70's with some in their late 80's.
Cyclists stayed at the Hidden Valley Caravan Park, and a group spokesperson said the venue was well catered for groups like theirs.
"The scenic hills around Margaret River were a bit more challenging than the flatter roads around Busselton that club members usually ride. The ride to Prevelly for morning tea on Tuesday was a great spot to take in the coastal views. Many local businesses were well supported by the group, especially coffee shops and the dinner at the District Club was enjoyed by all."
The Geographe Cycle Club has members from Busselton, Margaret River, Capel, Dunsborough, Cowaramup and Perth. Club rides are usually held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. There are usually four bike camps per year around the South West and this year the club is planning further rides around Katanning, Boyup Brook and Albany.
