It was a beautiful weekend for junior football this week, and Saturday saw players move across the South West from Augusta to Cowaramup in sunny conditions.
Margaret River started their day at Nippers oval with the avid Auskickers and their band of helpful parents.
Well done to Joel and team on a great day.
The Under 9 Hawks Red took on Augusta in great conditions - a big thank you to Augusta for hosting the Margaret River players.
Fantastic team performances from by both sides showed just how much this age group is happy to be back on the field playing the game they love.
The Under 11 Hawks Navy side took on Cowaramup Red and shone just like the sunshine.
Great umpiring and parent support saw lots of cheering from the sidelines.
The Navy teams accuracy and marking were outstanding on the day and the coach was pretty impressed with their teamwork.
The weather gods were smiling on Saturday and the Under 13s game between Hawks Blue and Cowaramup didn't disappoint.
The blue team fired out of the blocks with strong marks and goals to Riley and a clever snap from Xavier resulting in early goals. Good team play and chains of handballs opened the game up and flowing football ensued.
By half time there were some tired legs and but all players kept giving everything they had.
A towering mark from Cowaramup's James and a couple of goals to the Bulls tightened things up, but on the back of some strong defence and tireless midfield run the blue team edged ahead and managed to come out on top in a well fought game.
Margaret River Junior Football is thankful to its sponsors, players and parent cohort for the support of the club, we look forward to more games in the coming weeks.
