"Our range of fresh prawns are unaffected by the recall and perfectly safe for our customers to enjoy this Christmas," a Woolworths spokesperson said.
The frozen prawns, originally from Thailand, were recalled because of "potential microbial contamination".
Food with potential microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed.
"Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund," the Australian Food Standards website recommended.
The Woolworths-branded prawns were available at stores in NSW (in stores surrounding the ACT), Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Australia, and at Woolworths Metro stores in Victoria and the ACT.
