From the same creative team that made the multi award-winning hit Grug comes the world premiere of Windmill Theatre Co's magical new show for children, Beep.
Fresh from a series of critically acclaimed tours of Grug in China, Canada and America, including sell-out seasons on New York's Broadway, Windmill is back with this playful and highly interactive production aimed at children aged one to seven that celebrates friendship through puppetry, whimsical staging and lots of laughs.
In Mort's village everything has its place, every day is the same and everyone likes it that way. Until one morning: crash, boom, bang - down comes Beep, a clattery, clanky robot girl from a strange world. Who is this noisy bucket of bolts, and how will she find her way back home? More importantly, could this unlikely odd couple become... friends?
Featuring an original story by Katherine Fyffe, and starring irresistibly adorable puppets in an enchanting landscape created by designer Jonathon Oxlade, Beep is uniquely designed to surprise and delight the youngest theatre goers.
Director Sam Haren says: "After Grug got such a wonderful reception from children and families all over the world, we are so excited to bring this brand new production to WA audiences. While Grug was about an individual, this story is about community, family, friendship and what happens when someone new comes to town."
The perfect first theatre experience for the youngest members of your family, Beep features Windmill's trademark inventive design, gentle storytelling, music and puppetry in a quirky and fun tale of unexpected friendship and finding one's place in the world.
