REDGATE artist Alice Linford Forte has been endlessly inspired by Morocco since moving to live there in September.

"When I see something beautiful I'm already picturing it as a painting on canvas," she said.
Based in the tiny coastal village of Taghazout in the country's south west, she initially struggled to find the materials she needed to paint.
"There is a shortage of conventional art supply stores, and I had to make do with employing a local carpenter to cobble some frames together, onto which I stretched some locally-woven thick cotton fabric," she said.
"To begin with I had to make do with using oil-based house paints."
Two of the paintings in her latest collection, The Colours of Morocco, started their lives this way. These are titled Taghazout and Paradise Valley.
"After a trip to the UK to gather my oils and canvases I was able to get the ball rolling," Linford Forte said.
Several paintings travelled back to Australia with her, tightly wrapped in a Moroccan carpet for protection. Safely arrived in Margaret River, via Agadir, London, Moscow, Bangkok, Singapore and Perth, these paintings will be displayed at the Margaret River Gallery from Saturday.
"In this collection, I have drawn on the deep hues of the ocean, the desert golds, the Moroccan sunset skies, the quirky nature of the village architecture and the rustic character of the hustle and bustle of day to day life," Linford Forte said.
People are invited to the exhibition opening on Saturday, 6pm-8pm.
The paintings will be displayed until June 15.
